ACM Awards 2015: Luke Bryan Beats Miranda Lambert To Top Prize

Lambert won his fourth album of the year award and sixth female vocalist of the year

Miranda Lambert won four awards, including album and song of the year, but the singer lost the first award of the night for Luke Bryan at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday.

It was a repeat of the Awards Country Music Association in November, when Lambert won multiple awards, but lost the entertainer of the year award for Bryan.


 
"Listen guys, what an incredible night of music," said an excited Bryan on stage after winning the fan-voted award. "Thanks to my wife, my children ... my fans, country radio."

Lambert was the only woman nominated for artist of the year; other nominees include Garth Brooks, Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line, which won two awards on Sunday at the AT & T stadium

Despite losing the first prize - again - Lambert was the queen of the night. She was in a red-hot winning streak - and she even shook a red bodice alive when acted Little Red Wagon.

Lambert won his fourth album of the year, its sixth female vocalist of the year and their third single album of the year (won twice this year as a performer and composer auto.)

"I did not even realize what is happening tonight," Lambert said. "I love my job so much. I never love my job."


 
Lambert, a favorite of fashion in the last year, captured again in a fluid, plunging gown on the red carpet. Inside the enclosure, wearing white pants and a white top with a big black ball. She also accepted the 50 Anniversary Milestone Award, given to her by Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara (Lambert wrote a song for his new film, Hot Pursuit.)

It was also a memorable night for Taylor Swift, who made a family affair.

The singer was one of the seven winners of the Milestone Award, and video package highlighting his career and success played before his mother, who recently announced that he is battling cancer, his daughter presented the award.

"I'm a very proud mom," said Andrea Swift, who also called his daughter "brave enough to explore his musical curiosity."

"I'm so glad I learned to write songs in a town like Nashville," Swift, who released her first pop album in the making, 1989, he said last year.

The former country singer, who sat next to his father Scott Swift, danced together in typical form, especially when Lambert and Martina McBride perform.


 
Other recipients of the honor include anniversary Brooks, Reba McEntire, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney and George Strait, who performed near the beginning of the show.

The ACM began honoring veterans Merle Haggard by Keith Urban and Eric Church, while Straits sang All Live in Texas My Ex - suitable for the awards ceremony which celebrates its 50th anniversary in a new location, the Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Bryan Shelton and were playful as hosts - and they even played football. Shelton asked Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo to throw the ball to Bryan, wearing gloves.

"This is not one of those balls deflated?" Bryan Shelton said after caught the ball, referring to deflategate scandal earlier this year.

Lee Brice sang some of forever, Amen and then called Randy Travis, who was sitting in the audience and won enthusiastic applause. Brice won single record of the year because I do not dance, he also produced.

"This is crazy. Thank you so much," he said.

Little Big Town had one of the best performances of the night when things with their recent success, the semi-controversial Crush Girl slowed. They won vocal group of the year and Cole Swindell won new artist of the year.

Dierks Bentley, which had seven nominations, won video of the year for drunk on an airplane; Aldean won male vocalist of the year.
